Computer Aided Design (CAD)

Name-Danish saifi
Importance of CAD:

 CAD allows for the easier development of products. It also allows for greate modeling.
In the engineering world, CAD is extremely important and widely used to design and
develop products to be used by consumers.

 CAD drawings offer the flexibility to draft and design in a digital sphere, which were
previously done by hand.

 Computer-Aided Design is better, quicker, easier and less expensive than manual
drafting options, especially as projects become larger and/or more complex.
 CAD include: the ability to producing very accurate designs; drawings can
be created in 2D or 3D and rotated; other computer programmes can be
linked to the design software.
Advantages of CAD:

 1 . Saves time: When you are using the computer-aided design software, it
will save your time and you can make better and more efficient designs in
shorter time duration.

 Benefits of computer aided design-Improvement in design

 Easy to edit: When you are making designs, you may find the need to
make alterations. When you are using computer-aided design software, it
will be much easier to make any changes because you can fix the errors
and modify the drawings easily.
 CAD Computer aided design helps in creating simple designs with the assistance of
various scales.

 Easy to share: The CAD tools make it easier to save the files and store it in a way that you
can use it time and again and send it without any unwanted hassles too.

 Improved accuracy: There is absolutely no doubt about the fact that the kind of
accuracy that CAD software will offer can never be achieved by opting for manual
drawings. You have tools to measure the precision, skill and accuracy level of the
designs.
Disadvantages of CAD:

 Processing power limitations

 Engineers, designers and technicians may need expensive training in order to be

able to use the software, again this can be time consuming and expensive

 Industrial versions of the software can be very expensive to buy- especially the start
up costs
Disadvantages of CAD:

 Most popular CAD software like autocad, progecad are not so much suited for 3D

 Need of regular updating of software or operating systems.

 CAD software often consumes large amounts of computer processing power. This
requires high-quality computer hardware that can be costly.
