• We must understand that there is no link between
printmaking and the mechanical means of reproducing commercial images such as posters advertisements , • Creative printmaking requires imagination and co- ordination of the eye ,mind, and hand, combined with the thorough knowledge and practice of the technical methods of the medium. • It is a term which covers multiple techniques, usually a
combination of those used in itching and collagraphy.

done on a piece of glass metal or any hard non absorbant smooth surface .
• Only one impression can usually be made from the
painting since an image from one surface is transferred to another.
