SUPERSTITOUS
Superstition in India is considered a
widespread social problem.
Definition of Superstition :
Superstition refers to any belief or
practice which is explained by
supernatural causality, and is in
contradiction to modern science.
What is the cause of the Superstition?
• Superstition is usually attributed to a
lack of education.
• Superstitious belief arises due to fear,
misguidance, ignorance, etc.
But in India…
Literacy rate of India is 74%
according to the 2011 census. And
educated people have also been
observed following belief that may
be considered superstitious.
This means that the Indians are misguided
by there ancestors at some points and
have the fear of the result of not following
such irrational beliefs.
There are some of the Superstition
mention further which had shown more
dominance on Indians..
SATI

SATI is defined as the act of burning alive


or burial of a widow along with the body
of her deceased husband, irrespective of
whether it was voluntary.
Animals and birds sacrifices

The ritual sacrifice of animals like goats


and buffaloes is observed around some
festivals among followers of some deities.
Astrology

We all have heard the words like Rahu


Kal, Mangal Dosh, etc. The aspects of this
words decides the life of a person.
And many more like this. But our point of
discussion is to find the remedy of this
irrational beliefs.
As we have already discussed in the
previous one slide that Indians are afraid
of the result of superstitious beliefs
despite of there literacy and our duty as
the citizen of our country India is that to
awaken our brothers and sisters to make
India super power.

• Awareness about the topic
• Practical thinking
• Logical thinking
• Rational base of acts going on from time
of ancestors in India
