INTRODUCTION
• IoT refers to an Internet of Things.
Connecting any device with Internet so
that these objects can exchange data
with each other on a network.
• It is interesting to note that there is a
difference between IoT and the Internet,
it is the absence of Human role.
WHAT IS IoT?
• A network of Physical Objects that can interact
with each other to share information and take
action.
• The term was first proposed by Kevin Ashton
in 1999.
• The concept of IoT first became popular at the
Auto-ID center, MIT.
BIG DATA AND THE IOT
HOW IoT works?
• Internet of Things is not the
result of a single novel
technology.
• Instead, several complementary
technical developments provide
capabilities that taken together
help to bridge between the
virtual and physical world.
APPLICATIONS

• Smart Home
• Wearables
• Smart City
• Smart Grids
• Industrial
• Connected Car
• Smart Retail
• Smart Supply Chain
• Smart Farming
APPLICATIONS
ADVANTAGES/DISADVANTAGES
 Cost savings
 Communication
 Automation and
control

Over dependency on
technology
Losing security on
privacy
Lesser Employment
prospects
CHALLENGES IN IoT
• Willingness to
share knowledge.
• Setting priorities.
• Collaborative tasks.
CONCLUSION
The real value of Internet of Things is
about creating smarter products
delivering intelligent insights and
providing new business outcomes .
“IoT is the senses ,Big data is the fuel
and artificial intelligence is the brain to
realize the future of the smart Connected
World”
