INTUSSUSCEPTION
Intussusception usually occurs in the jejunum and ileum and rarely in the
colon.
Ileo- ileal i.e., confined to the ileum.
Ileo- caecal. Portion of ileum getting into the caecum.
Caeco- caecal i.e., confined to the caecum.
Caeco- colic. Portion of caecum getting into the colon.
Ileo-caeco-colic.
ETIOLOGY
Vigorous peristalsis
Due to inflammation and drinking of cold water.
Abcess or polyps associated with intestinal lumen.
In pups as a complication in canine distemper, worm
infestation.
