Intel Pentium

Intel Pentium Pro

Applications
Intel Pentium: Intel uses pentium to replace some RISC( Reduced
Instruction set computer).
Motorola, Apple and IBM produced PowerPC with Intel Pentium.

Intel Pentium Pro: Optimize to efficiently excute 32-Bit code

Bundle with Windows NT rather than Windows 95
Launched for server market
Intel Pentium II

Intel Pentium III

Applications
Intel Pentium II: Placed on a small circuit board instead of being in an
integrated circuit
Xeon is designed for high-end workstation and server applications.

Intel Pentium III: Uses flip-chip sockets to increased clock speed

Intel Pentium IV

Intel Pentium D

Applications
Intel Pentium IV: uses DDR memory instead of SDRAM technology
Changed from aluminum to copper

Intel Pentium D: Essentially two CPUs in the same package

multitasking activities due to several cores
two die/mcm
Intel Pentium M

Intel Pentium Dual Core

Applications
Intel Pentium M: M means mobile, for laptop use less power consumption and
lower clock speed

Intel Pentium Dual Core: Multiple cores for faster microprocessors

Designed for multithreaded applications
Intel Pentium 2009

Applications
Intel Pentium 2009: Introduced single and dual core versions

P5 is the original name of Pentium Processors. However, Intel decided
against it because of possible trade mark and copyright issues with the
name. They decided, then, with the name Pentium. It is derived from the
Greek word penta (πεντα), meaning "five", a reference to the prior
numeric naming convention of Intel's 80x86 processors
