BERNOULLI’S

THEOREM
PRESENTED BY :-
SHUBHAM GUPTA
REGD NO. 1741018081
INTRODUCTION

 This theorem states that for a steady ideal flow of an incompressible fluid the total
energy is constant at every point along the streamline.

 This theorem is applicable only when the flow is ir-rotational, steady and inviscid.

COMPONENTS
PIEZOMETER

 One of the simplest form of manometer.

 It’s setup consists of a glass tube inserted in the wall

of vessel and extends vertically upward to such a height
that liquid can freely rise in it without overflowing.

 It’s one end is connected to a point where pressure is

to be measured and other end is open to atmosphere.

 It can’t be used to measure larger pressure in the lighter

liquid as this would require very long tubes.
COMPONENTS
CENTRIFUGAL PUMP

 It has two main components- impeller(rotating part)

and casing(air tight passage surrounding impeller).
 It uses a rotating impeller to move water or other
fluids by using centrifugal force.
 It converts the rotational energy of the impeller to
energy in a moving fluid and raises the liquid from
low level to high level.
COMPONENTS
VALVE

 A valve is a device that regulates, directs or controls the

the flow of a fluid by opening, closing, or partially obstr-
ucting various passageways.

 In an open valve fluid flows in a direction from higher

pressure to lower pressure.

COLLECTING TANK

 Used to measure the rate of discharge of the fluid during

the experiment.
 A piezometer is attached to the tank which measures the
height of the liquid column in the tank in a particular time.
THEORY
THEORY
APPLICATIONS
 Lift of an aircraft wing .

 Blowing of roof .

 Motion of two parallel boats.

 Venturimeter
CONCLUSION
 Sum of the energies between any two points along the streamline
is constant.

 It can be applicable to any incompressible and inviscid fluid.

 TEL (Total energy line) actual is slightly less than TEL theoretical due
to the losses like friction loss and viscous loss.

 It has a wide range of industrial applications like venturimeter.
