Definition of Simple Past Tense
Simple past tense is a simple form of verb to show that an event
happened in the past.
Formula A :
A. S + To Be (was/were) + ……..
B. S + Verb II + …….
Formula B :
A. Positive (+)
S + Verb II
B. Negative (-)
S + did not + Verb I
C. Introgative (?)
Did + S + Verb I
Examples :
(+) He worked in the bank for four years.
(-) He didn’t work in the bank for four years.
(?) Did he work in the bank for four years?
(-?) Did he not work in the bank for four years?

Definition of Simple Future tense
Simple future tense is a form of verb used to declare that an action
occurs in the future, spontaneously or in a planned
Positive Sentence (+) He will win.
•S + will +….... (Dia akan menang.)
•S + be (am/is/are) going to + ……. They are going to come.
(Mereka akan datang.)
Negative Sentence (-) He won’t win.
•S + will + not + …… (Dia tidak akan menang.)
•S + be (am/is/are) + not + going to + …… They aren’t going to come.
(Mereka tidak akan datang.)

Introgative Sentence (?) Will he win?


•Will + S + …… (Apakah dia akan menang?)
•Be (am/is/are) + S + going to + ….. + ? Are they going to come?
(Apakah mereka akan datang?)
