life, following with the mainstream that is:

 “THE FRUITS OF A COMPLETE THERAPEUTIC PROCESS IN

COMMUNAL LIVING, IS THE MARK OF SUCCESS”
CONCLUSION

 WHAT MAKES THE TC WORK?

 THE BELIEF SYSTEM OF THE T.C

Every effort made in the Therapeutic Community is based

on a specific set of beliefs. These beliefs can be felt,
observed in behavior etc and they are:

 You can change – unfold

 The group can foster this change
 The individuals must take responsibility
 Structures to accommodate for change
 Act as if – go through the motion
 Positive Reinforcement: I am doing it, so can you, I
will, we will help you to become the man you are
capable of being. It is not easy, we know that but it can
be done. We also know that many people need help, but
“only” the people who wants it, “truly” get’s it.

 Self Help: We are a self help programme. We will

provide you with the tools needed to help you to
reconstruct your lifestyle in accord to right living & right
conduct. The operative words are your life. The bottom
line is: What lengths are you willing to go, to change?
How much of an investment are you willing to make in
your life? In the final analysis, this will determine the
outcome and quality of your personal recovery.
Responsible Love: We will give to you what was given
to us, responsible love and concern. We will not accept
anything that conflicts with or contradicts our value
system. We will not ask of you anything we would not ask
of ourselves. You will be expected to exercise self-
restraint. We will demand behavioral change. We have
three cardinal rules that is most vital in all T.C’s globally.

 NO PHYSICAL VIOLENCE OR THREAT OR VOILENCE

 NO USE OF ALCHOHOL OR ANY OTHER SUBSTANCE
 NO SEXUAL ACT OUT OR INVOLVEMENT WITH ANY
RESIDENTS
