My trip around the U.S.

Sixth Grade Student

We were going on a 2 week road trip! I was so excited to be
going somewhere. I hate staying in one place because it is
so boring. You have to see the same thing over and over
again. When you are on a road trip you can see a new thing
every day! In my opinion it is so much more fun.
Right when we were out of Missouri I started noticing
some plains. Plains are the most boring land form. They
are just flat pieces of land and are not exciting at all. I
don’t know that’s just my opinion, but I don’t think anyone
could call them exciting.
We drove for hours! I didn’t
care though it was kinda fun.
We played some car games
and just talked for a little
while. We went to a canyon.
Actually we went to the Grand
Canyon. It was so fun, we got
to ride donkeys down the side
of it.
The next day we were on the road and we were gonna have to be driving
the whole day! I thought it might be a little fun but my legs would hurt
when we were done. We were driving through/by some mountains when
it suddenly started pouring down rain. My little sister got really scared. It
was already 4 o’clock, so my parents decided to just stop at a hotel for
the night. We would just have to drive for a couple hours in the morning.
We went to a lot of
places but I am only
gonna tell you one
more, because it
would take a long
time to tell you all of
them. We practically
went to every state
in the U.S. except
the East Coast. We
didn’t go to the East
Coast because we
had been there
multiple times, and
we usually went
there for Christmas.
This is the last place that I am gonna tell you about. Are you ready to here
this, guess what, we went to some lakes.I know this sounds really boring,
except they were the great lakes. These lakes go over multiple states! They
are huge lakes and we got lucky that you can find them in the U.S.. The great
lakes touch 8 states! There are five of them but thats still a huge land space.
They touch Minnesota,Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania,
and New York.
When we were at the great lakes
I found out they had a peninsula,
actually two a upper and a lower
one. A peninsula is a piece of
land that has water on three
sides. It was really cool to learn
about the peninsulas. Over all on
this trip it was just really fun and I
hope I get to visit all these places
again.
