INTRODUCTION

 Water is a precious resource and without life is


not possible on earth.
 Water is getting polluted day by day due to
excessive and careless use so the percent of
available drinking water is reducing.
 There are many ways which causes water
pollution and the effects it are very harmful for
all living and non living objects.
WATER POLLUTION

 Water pollution occurs when energy and other


materials are released into the water,
contaminating the quality of it for other users.
TYPES

 Surface water pollution


Found on the exterior of the earth’s crust,
oceans, rivers and lakes.

 Ground water pollution


Found in soil or under rock structure or
aquifers.
 Micro biological pollution
Micro organisms that thrives on water
and fishes that can cause illness to land,
animals and humans.

 Oxygen depletion pollution

SOLUTIONS

 Turn off running water


 Practice responsible use of fertilizer, herbicides
and pesticides.
 Minimize storm water runoff.

 Capture and dispose of floating pollution in


water way.
