PROJECT CONCEPT AND PHILOSOPHY
 This resort is inspired the idea of building from sand and rock.
 The buildings are designed as thick concrete masses, carved by
program, movement and light.
 Strong simple geometries background the rough textured rock,
at times taking on the position of viewer while at others
integrating seamlessly into it, allowing the natural contours.
 Site Location
 The resort features an impressive program covering 243
hectares of land. Located on an amazing 600 acre site in
southern Utah.

Lotus Hotel in Desert
Project General Information
Project name: Lotus Hotel in Desert.

Project Type: Relaxation.

Architect: Plat architects

Location: In Xiang shawan desert, China.

Site Area: 30,700 sq.m

CASE STUDY SELECTION CRETERIA:

Focuses on sustainable tourism.

Use of environment friendly materials
Traditional themed interior
PROJECT CONCEPT AND PHILOSOPHY:

 Architects used the traditional Chinese idea of “Zhen”,

which is, in simple words, the art of repeating same
elements.
 Comprises of individual units with square white canopies
 Rotated 45 degrees and connected together in a circular
formation resulting in a form of lotus.
 SITE LOCATION
The Hotel located 800 kilometers west of Beijing, near the Han.
