BACKGROUND

Course is introduce everything about irrigation, which is related to the

water requirement for crops, water requirements for rice cultivation,
extraction of water from a weir, irrigation canals that bring water from its
source, as well as hydraulics and stability analysis of weir.
(Irrigation systems)
 Water resource management is an activity in planning,
implementing, monitoring and evaluating the
implementation of water resources conservation,
utilization of water resources, and control of water
damage.  with community participation
 Irrigation is an activity to provide, organize, and remove
the excess water, to support agricultural activities, which
consists of surface irrigation, swamp irrigation,
underground irrigation water, irrigation pumps, and
irrigation for fish ponds.
 " Planning "are activities to formulate something, based on the
guidance to an action within the scope of comprehensive and macro
scale, as a result of the connection and processing of basic tasks, the
main task, spontaneous outburst ideas, knowledge, experience and
the circumstances;
 "Technical Planning" is the activities and efforts to formulate the details
of the plan as a basis and guidance for an action in a certain scope
and micro scale and technical nature; (design-Detail design – detail

IRRIGATION PROBLEM IN INDONESIA

the balance between food production and population

Rapid population growth  rapid growth in food production as well.

"How to provide water and deliver water in an effective and

efficiently".

extensification, intensification, and preservation of food production activities 

irrigation water supply and water distribution  irrigation techniques (system
irrigation)
Distribution of water depends on the space / the amount of water /
water quality, and water requirement  which are dynamic

always requires the formulation at specified periods, because of the

development (changes) of water supply facilities, water pollution, and
the demand (requirement) of water.

because of growing businesses that require of water, because of population growth

 water requirement

Conflicts of interest  water for domestic (house hold), water for agriculture /
livestock and water for industry
