WHAT IS CRITIQUE WRITING:

A CRITIQUE IS A PAPER THAT GIVES A CRITICAL


ASSESSMENT OF A BOOK OR ARTICLE
INTRODUCTION

 The article titled “Ages Of Man” written by Hesiod published in between 750
and 650 BC in his poem works and days.
 In this article the writer is telling about the stages of human existence on the
earth.
INTRODUCTION:

 The writer is indicating the ages of man with the metal.


 As the value of metal is decreasing the value of that particular age is also
decreasing.
 This story is forge and fake there is no reality in these ages.
What do you think was the writer’s aim of
writing this myth ?

 Writer main purpose of writing this myth is to tell the modern people about the
ages of man.
 That how human exist on earth what changes they adopt from one age to
another age and how the Zeus and Cronus create them and rule on them.
Is the story of myth realistic and believable
according to the peoples of today world ?

 No this story has no reality it’s a fake story these all ages are human made
perceptions with no reality in real life .
 Fake concepts of human production is being used like creating man from ash
tree.
Which aspects of Greek culture are highlighted in
the myth ?
 In this myth Greek culture depends on gods and goddess and metals .
 According to writer the people of these ages worship human.
 They think that these humans are gods there believes is on metals etc.
 This story has no reality.
Is the Greek culture, as presented in the myth,
relate able for todays generation?

 No this mentioned Greek culture is totally opposite from today’s generation


culture.
 In this culture people believes on “Zeus” there leader can create human out
of the ash tree that is totally wrong .
 Humans can not be create from the ash tree where as today’s generation is to
fast and they don’t believe on these fake stories they think that these myths are
all human created stories with no reality in real Life.
What kind of characters have been presented in the
myth ? What significance they have for the modern
Readers today ?

 In golden age “CRONUS” was the leader and he rule on


people. The character of Cronus was not good it does not
have any significance for modern readers.
 Zeus ( silver and bronze age)
Which literary devices do the Greek writer use ? What
are there effects ?
 Writer uses verbal irony in golden age.
( Verbal irony occur when the writer said that this age is golden but in real writer
mean that men’s are not really made of gold but of good and noble)
Is the language easily understandable ? Can it be
made better in any way ?

 The language that has been in the myth is easy and understandable reader
can easily pick what the writer wants to say.
Will a modern Reader of today accept the ideas
in the myth without any questions ?

 No the modern reader will not accept the ideas that


are used in the myths
 Because there is to many fake concepts that are used
in these ages
Are these myths only a form of entertainment for
todays generation or can they learn something's
from these myths ?

 Themyth ages of man by Hesiod is only a form of


entertainment for todays generation.
Conclusion:
 The tale of the five ages of man shows a deep pessimism about man's
development.
 Yet be that as it may, the myth reflects the idea of the paradisiacal
condition of early man, an idea which is also behind the biblical legend
of Eden.
 This myth is a source of entertainment for the todays generation
because it is a fake .
 There is all human made perceptions with no reality in real.
