Question tags are short questions such as have you? and


aren’t you? which are placed at the end of a sentence. We
use them to check whether something is correct or to ask
for agreement.

14.1 Negative and positive question tags


A positive statement usually takes a negative tag, and a
negative statement usually takes a positive tag.

You’re Ann’s brother, aren’t you? Yes, I am.


You don’t need a rest, do you? No, I don’t.
