What is microwave
antenna?
A microwave antenna is a physical transmission
device used to broadcast microwave transmissions
between two or more locations.
“METHOD OF PROCEDURE IN HOISTING THE MICROWAVE ANTENNA”

STEP 1: SET-UP THE GIN POLE, DOUBLE PULLEY AND THE ROPE.

STEP 2: ATTACH THE MICROWAVE ANTENNA TO THE ROPE AND PUT A TAG
LINE TO PROTECT THE ANTENNA.

STEP 3: READY FOR HOISTING.

NOTE: WE NEED FOUR (4) PERSON TO HOIST THE

MICROWAVE ANTENNA.
• TWO (2) PERSON FOR PULLING UP THE ANTENNA.
• ONE (1) PERSON AT THE TOP OF THE TOWER.
• ONE (1) PERSON FOR THE TAG LINE

For our standard installation for the power cable,
connect the blue cable at the -48V slot and the
black or brown cable at the -48VTRN slot (both on
the device and input side). Secure the cable using
the metallic fastener while in contact with the
metallic shield of the cable.

For water proofing, use the

rubber conduit attached to
the PIMDC and apply water
proofing cement and
electrical tape if possible.

MICROWAVE COMMISSIONING PROCEDURE

STEP 1:
Install optical cable to GbE2 port of HORIZONTAL AOU and terminate to IPRAN designated port.
STEP 2:
Power on the IDU, then power the horizontal RMUF, Change laptop IP address to 192.168.1.15
STEP 3:
Access the IDU thru LMT port, log in Web LMT using device IP address 192.168.1.16
STEP 4:
Go to Setup>System>Time. Modify system time to GMT+8. Configure SNTP parameters. Enable SNTP, change
server IP address to 10.200.106.137.
STEP 5:
Configure SNMP. Go to Security>SNMP. Add two SNMP parameters. Switch ON SNMP & Community configuration.
STEP 6:
Configure Radio Link. Modify name according to naming rules, configure link id to 1 for horizontal & 2 for vertical
SRU. Change work mode parameter according to MLL planning.
STEP 7:
Configure RF Parameter. Input RX & TX frequency configuration. & TX power according to MLL planning, then apply all.
STEP 8:
Go to ETH>Port Related>Port Configuration enable GbE2-1 port
STEP 9:
Go to ETH > QoS. Modify Priority Mapping for GbE2 & AIR to 802.1p, then apply.
STEP 10:
Go to ETH>Qos>Queue Management. Modify scheduling policy for GbE2 & AIR. Default values shown as follows.
STEP 11:
Go to Setup>NMS, configure NMS VLAN.
STEP 12:
Go to ETH>VLAN>Port Info Configuration. Modify GbE2 & AIR, port type to Trunk then apply. Add VLAN ID 230,
299.
STEP 13:
Configure NE info. Change site ID & NE name according to naming convention, change device IP address, subnet &
gateway according to IP Planning.
STEP 14:
Power off horizontal RMUF, power on vertical RMUF. Access vertical SRU thru LMT port.
STEP 15:
Power on VERTICAL AOU. Change laptop IP address to 193.254.1.1
STEP 18:
Access VERTICAL AOU thru GbE1 port, log in Web LMT using device IP address 193.254.1.2 (default).
STEP 19:
Configure NE info. Change site ID & NE name according to naming convention, change device IP address, subnet &
gateway according to Latest IP Planning.
STEP 20:
Change laptop IP address based on the New Configured IP. New IP must be with the same Subnet with the Device IP
Address. The Log IN using the New Device IP Address.
STEP 21:
Go to Setup>System>Time. Modify system time to GMT+8. Configure SNTP parameters. Enable SNTP, change server IP
address to 10.200.106.137.

STEP 25:
Go to ETH>Port Related>Port Configuration, enable GbE2 port for HORIZONTAL AOU.
STEP 26:
Configure Radio Link. Modify Name according to Naming rules, Configure Link ID to 1 for HORIZONTAL AOU/ Link ID
2 for VERTICAL AOU. Change work mode parameter according to MLL Planning.
STEP 27:
Configure RF Parameter. Input TX & TX frequency configuration & TX power according to MLL planning, then apply
all.
STEP 28:
Go to ETH>Qos>Queue Management. Modify scheduling policy for GbE2 & AIR. Default values shown as follows
“MICROWAVE ANTENNA ALIGNMENT”
Access horizontal SRU. Go to Radio Link>XPIC. Enable XPIC, polarization direction should be H & XPIC mode to Auto then apply.
Enable PLA configuration. PLA (just check box air 5 and 6,) then apply.
Go to Radio Link>Basic Configuration, enable ACM and configure start & end modulation
Access VERTICAL SRU. Go to Radio Link>XPIC. Enable XPIC, polarization direction should be V & XPIC mode to Auto then apply.
Log in to horizontal SRU homepage to check the XPI value before going out of site.
Verify the XPD value (XPI Value should be Greater the 25dB). If lower than 25dB, adjust OMT adjuster to get the desired XPI Value.
