 If you are a graduate from a college or university


and have a Bachelor’s Degree, take the PNP
Entrance Examination (NAPOLCOM Entrance
Exam). If you passed the exam, you will have the
eligibility appropriate for the appointment to the
rank of PO1 (Police Officer 1) as prescribed by
Section 30 in the RA 6975, amended by republic
Act 8551.
O A candidate who has successfully passed the
classification day and has been found suitable to
continue the process, will be invited to an evaluation
center (a mini-team-building exercise) for two days at
the police operational fitness academy in Havatzelet
HaSharon - Neurim.

O At the evaluation center the candidates’ suitability is


tested through simulations, tasks and role plays.

O In the course of the team-building exercise the


candidates are required to undergo a physical
fitness test.
The Physical Fitness Test

The following includes details of the fitness requirements


for women and men separately:
O Men
O Aerobic test - 2000 run, required time for completion: 11
minutes or less.
O Abdominal muscles (sit-ups) - at least 45 sit-ups.
O Arm muscles (push-ups) - at least 30 push-ups.

O Women
O Aerobic test - 1000 run, required time for completion: 6
1/2 minutes or less.
O Abdominal muscles (sit-ups) - at least 33 sit-ups.
O Arm muscles (push-ups) - at least 22 push-ups.
O STAGE THREE: FIRST-ROUND INTERVIEWS
O If we consider that you are a potential candidate for
the position, you will be invited to attend face-to-face
interviews. Conducted by a panel, including the
hiring manager, this interview helps us to
understand your career interests, educational
background, skills, competencies and experience, as
well as what motivates you to succeed at work.

O STAGE FOUR: ASSESSMENTS

O Each policeman is armed with a pistol (handgun)
which he or she usually also carries while off-duty.
Also, each patrol car must have at least one long-arm
(i.e. rifle). Police volunteers are usually armed with an
M1 Carbine, which they return to the police's armory
after they finish their duty (they do not take the rifle
home, but may sign one out for escorting field trips,
etc.). Volunteers who have a gun license may use their
own personal handgun as personal defense weapon
for their police duty, under the condition that the gun
and ammunition type is authorized by the police (9
mm). Common pistols owned and carried by
volunteers include Glock and CZ-75 designs.

O All uniformed members of the PNP shall


undergo a Field Training Program for
twelve (12) months involving actual
experience and assignment in patrol, traffic,
and investigation as a requirement for
permanency of their appointment.
O Republic Act 11279 , signed last
month and a copy released Thursday,
placed the Philippine National Police
Academy (PNPA) and the National
Police Training Institute (NPTI)
under PNP jurisdiction. The PNPA
provides police education and is the
primary source of police lieutenants.
O The National Police Training Institute
(NPTI) has played a major role in the
training of our country's policemen. Its long
history can be traced from the year 1905,
four years after the Americans formally
established the Philippine Constabulary for
the purpose of enforcing the law and
maintaining peace and order.

O The PNTI is envisioned to become the
primary training ground for the
professionally competent, morally
upright and tecgnically proficient police
officers capable of working in close
partnership with a responsive community
in the preservation of peace, protection of
human rights and maintenance of law
and order with the end in view of
improving the quality of peoples lives.
Mission

O To provide continuing training and


human resource development programs
for the uniformed personnel of the
Philippine National Police so that they
may possess the knowledge, skills,
attitudes and values necessary in the
exercise of their profession.

O A uniformed member of the PNP shall not be
eligible for promotion to a higher position or rank
unless he or she has successfully passed the
corresponding promotional examination given by
the NAPOLCOM, or the Bar, or the corresponding
board examinations for technical services and other
professions, has satisfactorily completed the
appropriate and accredited course in the PNP or
equivalent training institutions, and has
satisfactorily passed the required
psychiatric/psychological and drug tests.

Sick Days
O All employees are entitled to 1.5 days of sick leave
for each calendar month of employment at their
current place of work. A maximum of 90 sick days
can be accumulated. When sick days are used,
compensation is as outlined in this table.

O Day 4+ 100% of gross salary
Vacation Days
O All employees are allotted 10 vacation days during
the first year of employment, not including
mandated holidays. Vacation days increase with
seniority according to the law. Mandated holidays
include Jewish holidays about 10 to 15 days per year
according to the Jewish calendar.

Pension Fund
O After the first six months of employment all
employees are entitled to choose a pension fund of
his/her preference, to which employer will
contribute up to 6% + 2.5% disability insurance and
employee will contribute up to 5.5% of the monthly
salary.
