INTRODUCE AN ACTION SONG TO THE STUDENTS.
TITLE “AKO AY MAY KAMAY”
• Divide the class into 4 groups each group will
follow the instruction given in the activity.
• each group will create movements using
hands and feet.
Discuss the fundamental dance position of
the arms and feet in folkdance
Position Arms Feet

First Arms encircled forward at chest level and palms Heels together feet apart
facing down
Second Arms raised sideward at shoulder level and Feet apart sideward
palms facing upward
Third The Right/Left arm makes a half circle over and Heel and instep together
in front of the head while the Left/Right arms
are in second position
Fourth Left/ Right arms are raised overhead, palms Feet apart in walk-stride
facing sideward and Right/Left arm encircled position
forward at chest level, palm facing down
Fifth The arms are rounded above the head so that Heel and toe together
the finger tips are just within the line of vision
Ask the students the following questions

* What are the different fundamental positions of


the arms and feet in folk dance?
* Why is it important that we should learn the
fundamental positions of the arms and feet in
folkdance?
* How Beneficial is the fundamental positions of
the arms and feet in creating dance?
• Let the students form a group with
atleast 5 members to perform the
fundamental positions of the arms
and feet in folkdance.
