Social Concern Project

CTD-Hommbegowda School Wilson Garden-Smart Class School


OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT
• To interact with the students at the Hommbegowda Boys High School in
Wilson Garden.
• To understand how the program has helped students in their academics and
life.
• To examine CTD’s significant impact on student mathematics and science
achievement
• To evaluate CTD’s significant impact on the extent to which students are
motivated to learn mathematics and science
• To find CTD’s significant impact on enhancing school teacher knowledge by
various initiatives or by pedagogy of teaching
• To analyse CTD’s significant impact on the extent to which students involve
in classroom
About the project
• Bosch has partnered with Connecting the Dots for giving best smart class
education to Hommbegowda Boys High School and also providing equipment
required for the school such as Projector, Speakers, Computer and Screen.
• Students from 8th ,9th and 10th standard undergo these smart classes in
Mathematics and Science subjects.
• Class 10th has regressive training and preparations keeping in mind their
board exams and also have some tests as well as study material for further
preparation other than smart class training.
• Teachers also have orientation classes so that they can enhance their mode of
teaching, provide various examples while explaining a concept and let them
participate in the activities to bring strong command on the concept.

SCHOOL NEED ANALYSIS

• As the school is having a average and


below average performance in terms
of board exam performance specially
in mathematics and science. There is
a need for a smart class within the
campus.
• The school fulfilled all the mentioned
qualifying criteria of CTD.
KEY CHALLENGES
• All doubts are cleared just by raising a hand.
• Students are given assignments which are they assessed by the
school faculty.
• Poor internet connection
• Cancellation of classes during power cut.
• Individual connect with the students is not there.
• Speakers sound was not audible.
• Reliability of data of students enrolled
• Regulatory bodies (government) restrictions.
RECOMMENDATIONS
• A sense of healthy competition and collaborative learning can be
created between schools.
• English classes should be started – include a 15 minute slot in the
existing time of the class.
• More experiments in Chemistry is required.
• A weekly visit by the faculty to assess the assignments given and to
interact with the ones scoring low and understanding their problems.
MAKING THE PROJECT SUSTAINABLE
• Make all content online available to teachers at any time.
• Offer help and assistance on “need basis” to teachers and school
management.
• Run specific student engagement programs ( Quizzes, career
guidance and training )
KEY FINDINGS
• Technology is changing the way students learn.
• Maximum of 20 schools can be taught with a single streaming – time
saving, effort saving and cost saving
• The same problem is taught using various examples. This helps the
students to connect better.
KEY LEARNINGS
• With the help of these programs, students get benefited and have
high enthusiasm for attending the classes where their doubts are
cleared and are attentive in understanding the concepts without any
ambiguity.
