PERCEPTION
 The ability to see, hear, or become aware of something through the senses.
 Perception is the organization, identification, and interpretation of sensory
information in order to represent and understand the presented information, or the
environment
HABITUATION
 Is a psychological learning process wherein there is a decrease in response to a
stimulus after being repeatedly exposed to it. This concept states that an animal or
a human may learn to ignore a stimulus because of repeated exposure to it.
 For Example: A turtle draws its head back into its shell when its shell is touched.
After being touched repeatedly, the turtle realizes it's not in danger and no longer
hides.
 Classical conditioning refers to
a learning procedure in which a
biologically potent stimulus (e.g.
food) is paired with a previously
neutral stimulus (e.g. the mother).
 After pairing is repeated the object
exhibits a conditioned response to
the conditioned stimulus when the
conditioned stimulus is presented
alone.
 Operant conditioning is a method of learning that occurs through rewards and
punishments for behavior. Through operant conditioning, an individual makes an
association between a particular behavior and a consequence.
