There are four main types of teams: problem-solving teams, self-managed teams, cross-functional teams, and virtual teams. Problem-solving teams work to improve processes and methods but do not have decision-making authority. Self-managed teams take on supervisory responsibilities and make operational decisions. Cross-functional teams bring together employees from different departments to coordinate projects and exchange ideas. Virtual teams use technology to collaborate across distances but face challenges with lack of in-person interaction.
