1. The resume for the
beginners or even with
many years of
experience should not
be more than 2 pages
2. Write your Resume sitting
in a relaxed mood thinking
and analysing what positives
you have. For this, you have
to think the negative qualities
in others which you do not
have, and include in your
resume.
3. Highlight your
performance in the
graduation level onwards
and not much of the
performance in the
school level.
4.In the Resume,
include as much of
contact information as
possible. Have mobile
and e-mail ID and
include them.
5. Send only
original print
outs and not
photo copy.
6.Avoid using
tabular columns,
bolding, italics,
underlining etc.
7. Include
objective
statement in
the Resume.
8. Include your positive traits in the resume
such as
• Being punctual
• Creative
• Caring for minute details
• Reliable
• Following systems and procedures
• Cost conscious
• Ability to work in teams etc.
9. If you have
good physique
and Health do
mention it in
your Resume.
10. Do mention
your proven
performance in the
extra curricular
activities.
11. Always mention
what special qualities
and skills you
possess which others
generally do not
possess.
12. Do not give
references in the
resume unless asked
for. You can reserve
it to give after you
get the interview call.
13. The screening process of
the applications by many
companies is done by
computers on electronically
submitted resumes as well as
hard copies. So do not use any
font of your choice. Use only
popular fonts like Times new
Roman or Courier.
14. Key in your Resume
in the P.C and keep your
resume in a C.D. You
can easily update,
modify and tailor-make
for each application.
15. Provide only
authentic information
since everything will
be verified even at a
later date.

a covering letter to
each Resume you
send.

MANAGE THE
WAITING TIME
FOR THE
INTERVIEW ?
EMPLOYERS’ EXPECTATAIONS FROM YOU
• Good verbal communication
• Prompt replies. Do not blink
• In depth knowledge in the subject
• Skills in computers
• Language skills (proficiency in many languages
particularly in Hindi.
• Your emotional stability
Do not lose your temper even if irritating questions
or too much personal questions are asked.

interview room, ask
for permission like
“May I come in sir?”

interview room give
salutations to the members
of the committee by
saying ‘Good morning’ or
‘Good afternoon’ etc.
4. While sitting in
the chair, occupy
the full chair.
( Do not sit at the tip
of the chair).
5. Do not lean
too much
forward or
backward
6. Wear a smile.
Do not look grim,
gloomy or
serious.
7.During the interview, do not
look to the ceiling or walls,
doors and windows.
LOOK TO THE EYES OF
THE INTERVIEW
COMMITTEE MEMBERS.
8. Listen to the
questions attentively. If
you do not know the
answer say “I do not
know sir” or “ I do not
know madam”.
9. While answering
any question, show
your confidence by
telling clearly and
loudly.
10. Use
body
language.
11. Do not play
with the things
like paper weight
etc kept on the
table.
12. At the end of the
interview do not ask
whether you have been
selected. When the
committee members say
that the interview is over,
thank them.
At the end of the
interview, if the
committee members ask
you your expected salary,
that is an indication that
you are considered for
the selection.
The last question
may be
“Do you want to
ask us any
question ?”
