Current state of insurance

Insurance Industry in India is of worth US$ 41 billion
in 2010.
FDI limit in the insurance sector increased from 26%
to 49.1% in 2010.
During the period of 2008-09 to 2010-11 the non life
insurance premium is likely to have a growth of 22%.
Nearly 70% of the Indian population is without life
insurance.
