Proposed Intervention, Innovation and Strategy

This basic research seeks to help

elementary science teachers of Division of
Bacolod City in improving their teaching skills
and experiences. that will enable them to
equip their pupils of the proper science skills
while giving them relevant experiences in the
preparation of the science investigative
project.
The program will employ the SIPCBP
(Science Investigative Project – Capacity
Building Program) which will facilitate and
implement training designs that seeks to
improve the ability of teaching of selecting and
creating a research topic, the research writing

Research Question
This study aims to determine the
difficulties encountered by elementary
science teachers in the Division of
Bacolod City in the preparation of a
science investigative project, serving as
basis in the implementation of a capacity
building program geared towards
improving every difficulty encountered by
teachers.
Specifically, this action research seeks to
answer the following questions:
1.What is the profile of elementary school
science teachers of the Division of
Bacolod City when grouped according to
age, highest educational attainment,
research related background and
teaching position.
2.What is the extent of difficulty
encountered by elementary science
teachers of the Division of Bacolod City in
the areas of SIP problem selection, SIP
preparation, Conduct of SIP methodology
and preparation and completion of SIP
output, forms, logbooks and display
board?
3.Is there a significant difference in the
extent of difficulty encountered by
elementary science teachers of the
Division of Bacolod City in the areas of
SIP problem selection, SIP preparation,
Conduct of SIP methodology and
preparation and completion of SIP output,
forms, logbooks and display board when
grouped according to the aforementioned
variables?
4. What program shall be
implemented to help improve every
teacher’s capacity of teaching pupils
in the making of Science
Investigative Project?
Research Method
This study used the Action Research
Method utilizing a researcher made survey
questionnaire. In this study, difficulties
encountered by elementary science teachers of
the Division of Bacolod City in the preparation
of a science investigative project will be
determined serving as basis in the
implementation of a capacity building program
geared towards improving every difficulty
encountered by elementary science teachers.
Sampling
This study will employ the total
sampling technique as it will utilize all the
elementary science teachers of the
Division of Bacolod City. Participants will
be from the forty - eight (48) elementary
schools in the district with a total of fifty –
six (56) science teachers.
Data Gathering Procedure
Procedures will be followed using the data
gathering instrument towards a specific
problem. Different steps will be followed by the
researcher in the conduct of the instrument.
