LJS „Žingsnis“ (Lithuania youth union “Step”)
 Is a nationwide prevention organization. Executing a program called
“Operation Snowball” which is an alcohol and other drug usage
prevention program based in Springfield, Illinois focusing on
leadership development to empower youth to lead drug, alcohol free
lives.
 Operation Snowball is founded on the belief that youth and adults can
make responsible decisions and an opportunity to develop an
understanding of one’s self and motivation.
Lietuvos Moksleivių Sąjunga ( Lithuanian
Student Union)
 Is a nationwide organization which connect Lithuanian student and
their opinion. Volunteers of that organization organizes events and
gives students opinion to our ministry.
Lietuvos Raudonasis Kryžius (Lithuanian Red
Cross)
 Is an international humanitarian organization based on voluntary
work.
 Main activities of the organization:
1. Home care of the elderly and the lonely,
2. Humanitarian aid for the needy and in crisis,
3. First aid training,
4. Educational activities.
Caritas Lithuania
 Caritas is a charity organization which is hosted by Catholic church.
 It has economic, financial, organizational and juridical autonomy.
 Lithuanian Caritas is a member of the Caritas International
confederation and of the regional network Caritas Europe.
 Lithuanian Caritas is a community which encompasses all Caritas
entities in Lithuania
„Šiaulių letenėlė“ („Šiauliai paw“)

 Is animal care center in which volunteers take care of homeless, near

to death or injured animals.
 Their mission is to create a brighter tomorrows, hope for animals by
giving them home, food, warmth, safety and love which they need
most.
Lietuvos Šaulių Sąjunga (or Lithuania
Riflemen‘s Union)
 Is a state-sponsored paramilitary public organization that unites
people learn about defense of the state.
 Lithuanian Riflemen's Union seeks to build up self-confident, creative,
motivated and disciplined citizens community in the Republic of
Lithuania which would be ready to defend their homeland and help
others in case of disaster
Lietuvos skautai (Lithuanian Scouts)

 Is not just a leisure club or summer camp, it is a way of life that

develops a strong, responsible, patriotic and loving personality.
 The mission of Scouts is to help young people become active, full
members of society.
 The training is based on a system of games, classes, help from the
elders to the younger ones, democracy system.
DofE (The Duke of Edinburgh International Award)
 DofE is a program for young people that gives them an opportunity to
challenge themselves through three different aspects: volunteering,
physical recreation and skills improvement
 After achieving goals in listed activities studens participate in two,
three, or four day long hike (Hike duration depends on award‘s level)
