Brussels Central Brussels Central Station is
a railway and metro station in
Station central Brussels, Belgium. It is the
second busiest railway station in
Belgium and one of three principal
railway stations in Brussels, together
with Brussels-South and Brussels-
North. First completed in 1952 after
protracted delays caused by economic
difficulties and World War II, it is the
newest of Brussels' main rail hubs.
• The Palace of Justice of Brussels or Law
Palace of Justice Courts of Brussels is the most important court
building in Belgium. Brussels' Palace of
Justice was, at the time of its construction,
the largest building in the world, and remains
today one of the largest courthouses. The
Palace of Justice was built between 1866 and
1883 by the celebrated architect Joseph
Poelaert in the eclectic style. The total cost of
the construction, land and furnishings was
somewhere in the region of 45 million Belgian
francs.
The Auschwitz • The Auschwitz Foundation was
founded in 1980 by the Belgian
Foundation Association of former political
prisoners in Auschwitz-Birkenau and
Silesian Camps and Prisons, its main
aim being to study the history and
remembrance of Holocaust and Nazi
terror, awareness of them, the
transmission of their memory and the
preservation of archives concerning
them.
