Random Access Preamble Power

Path Loss (PL) = referenceSignalPower – Cell RSRP = 15 – (-89) = 104 dB

PREAMBLE_RECEIVED_TARGET_POWER = preambleInitialReceivedTargetPower + ΔPREAMBLE +
(PREAMBLE_TRANSMISSION_COUNTER-1)*powerRampingStep
1st Preamble:
PREAMBLE_RECEIVED_TARGET_POWER = -116 + 12 + (1-1)*2 = -104 dBm
To achieve this target the UE must transmit the 1st preamble at - 104 + PL = - 104 + 104 = 0 dBm

POPUSCH on SIB 2

© Ericsson AB 2010 . Figure - 4 LTE Power Control 2010-06-18

PUSCH Power

UE TX power reduces with path loss (Cell RSRP increases)

Path Loss (PL) = referenceSignalPower – Cell RSRP = 15 – (-89) = 104 dB

PPUSCH = min {Pmax,10logM + P0PUSCH + α·PL + f(i) + ΔTF} [dBm]

f(i) can be -4, -1, 1 or 4 dB depending on TPC command from eNodeB every 4 subframes

Eg. Above PPUSCH = min { 23, 10log4 -103 + 104 + 1 + 0 } = 8 dBm
