 Let's take a look at some examples:

Example 1
How many hours are in 8 days?

CONVERTING Solution:
 We want to convert 8 days into hours. Days are larger than
UNITS hours, and since we are going from large to small, we must
multiply.
OF TIME  There are 24 hours in a day, so we will multiply 8 by 24.

 8 x 24 = 192
Answer: There are 192 hours in 8 days.

8 DAYS = 192 HOURS

 Example 2
On a Sunday, you and your family decided to have a
family date and watch the latest movie “ TOY STORY 4 ”
whose running time is 120 minutes. How many hours is the
movie?
Solution:
CONVERTING  We want to convert 120 minutes into hours. Minutes are
smaller than hours, and since we are going from small to
UNITS large , we must divide.
 There are 60 minutes in one hour, so we will divide 120 by

 120 ÷ 60 = 2
Answer: There are 2 hours in 120 minutes.
