PROMOTION OF A NATIONAL DRUG-FREE WORKPLACE PROGRAM
WITH THE PARTICIPATION OF THE PRIVATE AND LABOR
SECTORS, AND THE DOLE.
SECTION 47-A, ARTICLE V:
“DRUG-FREE WORKPLACE”

•Drug Abuse Prevention Program
•10 or more employees
•Adoption of policies against
drug use in the workplace
SECTION 47-B, ARTICLE V:
“DRUG-FREE WORKPLACE”

•DOLE Department Order (DO)


•All private companies to
adopt and implement drug
abuse prevention programs in
workplace, including
formulation of company
policies.
•All private sector organization with 10 or more personnel
shall implement a drug abuse prevention program
•Advocacy and capability building and other preventive
strategies
•Shall be integrated in the safety and healthy programs
•ADVOCACY AND CAPABILITY STRATEGIES
•Company policies
•Training of supervisors and managers
•Employee education
•Random drug testing
•Monitoring and evaluation
•Extension of drug education program to employees/
personnel and immediate families
•contribute in the promotion of healthy drug-free
family, community and society.
DRUG TESTING •Employers shall require random
PROGRAM drug test
•Only DOH accredited drug testing
centers shall be utilized
•Shall consist of both screening and
confirmatory test is positive
•If positive, the company’s
ASSESSMENT TEAM shall evaluate
results and determine level of:
•Care
•Administrative interventions
•Valid for 1 year
•All cost shall be borne by the
employer
TREATMENT,
REHABILITATION AND
REFERRAL

•Drug prevention and control


program shall include treatment,
rehabilitation and referral
•To be provided by the company
staff or by an external provider
•Assessment Team shall determine
whether or not an officer/ employee
found positive for drugs would need
referral for treatment and/ or
rehabilitation
