PREHISTORIC AGE
ORAL LANGUAGE
was the medium of
communication.
INDUSTRIAL AGE
• started in England and other European
countries in the 18th century
• marked from the shift of agricultural and
handicraft economy to one dominated by
machines
• marked the use of iron and steel
• transportation and communication develop
INDUSTRIAL AGE
Primary industry
• agriculture, forestry, fishing, mining
Secondary industry
• manufacturing
Tertiary industry
• service industry, banking, finance,
insurance, investment, real estate service,
education, transportation, communication
INDUSTRIAL AGE
During this period,
printing flourished.
Communication were
developed like telegraph,
radio, and telephone.
ELECTRONIC AGE
Thomas Alva Edison was able to
invent a duplex telegraph which can
transmit two messages simultaneously in
one wire and print converted electrical
signals to letters. These messages from the
telegraph were called telegrams. Morse
code was used in telegraphs to send
messages.
Alexander Graham Bell was the first
who got the patent for the telephone.
ELECTRONIC AGE
This age made great
contribution in the
development of radio,
television (colored), films
(CD and DVD) and the
telephone as media of
communication.
NEW INFORMATION AGE
At what age did you start
to have your own cellular

your cellular phone for a

NEW INFORMATION AGE
In the 1980s, the desktop
computer arrived in the
Philippines. Wordstar was
the first word processing,
later it became Word
Perfect. (MICROSOFT)
NEW INFORMATION AGE
By 1998, the telephone
has evolved into a portable
gadget called cellular phone
with antenna and can only be
used for oral communication.
NEW INFORMATION AGE
By 2000, cellular
phone and computer
became more compact
and handy; camera was
an added feature.
NEW INFORMATION AGE
There were still pen and
paper means of
communication (snail mail).
Social networking sites
became available for faster
means of communication.
NEW INFORMATION AGE
In this age, the computer
and the Internet become
part of education, business,
government,
communication,
socialization, religion, and
other activities.
