INTRODUCTION
Iceland is a Nordic island country in the North Atlantic, with a population of 360,390/around three hundred sixty
thousand and an area of 103,000 km2 (40,000 sq mi), making it the most sparsely populated country in Europe.
The capital and largest city is Reykjavík.

Reykjavík has an astounding variety of restaurants including both native Icelandic cuisine and ethnic styles from
around the world. The food served in Icelandic homes and restaurants is excellent. Iceland’s two main resources in
terms of food are fish and lamb. Icelandic lambs spend the summer in the wild, feeding on only the most natural
herbs and grasses.
Fun Fact: Please note that in restaurants in Iceland you do not pay for fresh water, unless you order bottled water.
