PREVENTION AND MITIGATION PLAN
is a combined hazard exposure prevention and
vulnerability reduction plan

OBJECTIVES
It consists of strategies that aim to:
• Strengthen day-to-day operations of different health programs
(Tuberculosis, Malaria, Expanded Program on Immunization, Water
and Sanitation Program, Nutrition, Mental Health, etc.) at the
community level.
• Active surveillance of chemical and biological hazards (malaria,
emerging and re-emerging diseases, etc.)
• Assess and reduce risks in structural resiliency or integrity of health
infrastructure/ facilities through engineering and maintenance
