HAIC AGRO RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT CENTRE

HAIC Agro Research & Development Centre was registered as a

Society on 11.03.1993 under the Society Registration Act 1860.

Further, it was registered as a Society on 31.01.2014 under the

Haryana Registration and Regulation of Societies Act, 2012.

MAIN OBJECTIVES:
a) To set up agriculture research centers in the state of Haryana, which shall undertake
scientific research relating to the field of agriculture, agro based Industries and food
processing techniques.

b) Imparting training of rural youth in the field of Agriculture and Agro based industries.

c) To set up Agriculture Research Farms and Laboratories evolve new techniques


relating to cultivation, development of new variety of Seeds, Fertilizer, Pesticides and
Insecticides.

d) To undertake Research activity for extension of knowledge in the field of food


preservation, food processing etc

e) To create infrastructure and provide facilities for evolving methods for better and
useful storage of food grain, food commodities, seeds, flower etc.

f) To undertake Research and other activities, in order to device system to bring down
the cost of packaging and transportation.

g) To assist in the preparation and implementation of Research & Development Plans


for the State.

MAIN OBJECTIVES:
h) To promote and establish pilot-plants and programmes including demonstration
units based on technology generated through indigenous R&D
users/entrepreneurs, and to establish units for commercial exploitation of
Research and Development for priority development needs of the State.

i) To advise the State Government on policies and measures relating to the


development and deployment of R & D manpower resources.

j) To interact with other States and National R & D bodies having similar for related
objectives.

k) To identify priority areas of R & D needed for long term development of the State.

l) To take any other steps which are relevant to the promotion of Research &
Development or incidental thereto and its application to the development needs
of the State.

m) To consider, and advice Government on such other matters as are relevant to


the application of Research & Development to the problems of Haryana State and
to oversee the application of Research & Development by the State and its under
takings.

SWOT ANLYSIS
 Strength:
 Sixteen acres campus having Spawn Production Laboratory, Mushroom Spawn Composting Unit &
Mushroom Growing facilities, Hostel for trainees, Training Hall, Guest House & Residential quarters
for staff at Murthal, near Deen Bandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science & Technology, Murthal
(Sonepat)
 Research & Development Centre provides high yield quality Mushroom spawn & pasteurized
compost at reasonable rates, on no profit no loss basis.
 Centre provides all facilities for sustaining Mushroom cultivation in Haryana.
 Weakness:
 Shortage of staff.
 Lack of trained personnel for Mushroom industry.
 Opportunity:
 The Murthal Centre is easily approachable from all sides in Haryana & is near to Delhi.
 National / International level institute of Mushroom can be started for preparing youths for
mushroom industry.
 Abundant agro waste available for mushroom production. Further, large population consumes
mushroom.
 Threats:
 Nil.
