 Definition :
Blood pressure measurement is the non-invasive
measurement of the pressure exerted by the circulating
blood on the walls of the body's arteries.

 Purpose :
1. To detect any changes from normal values
2. To monitor the effectiveness of medication
3. To control elevated blood pressure

 Equipment Required :
1. Sphygmomanometer
2. Stethoscope
Care Action

1. Wash your hand

2. In seated position, the patient's arm should be

relax.

3. Wrap the cuff around the upper arm with the cuff's
lower
4. A little press the stethoscope's bell over
the brachial artery just below the cuff's
edge.

5. Rapidly inflate the bulb until pointed at

180mmHg.
 6. Release air from the cuff with rotate the
valve and Listen with the stethoscope and
observe the sphygmomanometer.

8. When finished, remove the cuff and

record the pressure
8. Wash your hand
