GT540 Web Upgrade Guide Final To Branch
User needs to backup all his data before doing web upgrade as the same will get deleted during upgrade
Battery should be fully charged (at least 90%) , before starting to upgrade
Great care needs to be taken during upgrade, as the handset me go dead due to cable disconnection,
power failure, PC Shut down etc
Phone can be upgraded only if a latest version of firmware is available on the web. If the phone already
has latest version, it cannot be upgraded through web.

3. The application will be installed as below & a desktop icon will get created as shown here
6. Now click on “Install USB driver” to download & install USB driver 7. Double click on model number to install the driver
for the respective model
8. Driver installation will begin automatically …… Click next to complete the installation till finish
9. Other required driver installations will also begin automatically …… Click next to complete the installation till finish
11. The next driver will also begin to download …… Click next to complete the installation till finish
For GT540, Go to Menu Settings SD card & Phone Storage uncheck “Mass Storage only”
For other phones, select “Data service” in Menu Connectivity USB connection mode Data Service
Note : During upgrade all data on the phone will get erased. It is recommended to backup data before doing update
Note : Plz be patient as this may take upto 30 mins to download the file, depending upon internet speed
Note : During this stage, phone will go to Download mode & will restart…… PLZ DO NOT DISCONNECT
Download the Application After downloading, Open the application Click OK to save the backup file on to
from phone menu & click “Backup” the SD card

After upgrading OS (1.6 Donut -> 2.1 Éclair ), User data will be erased. Hence, Backup the data in advance.
Applications downloaded from Android market will be erased as well.
The data which is stored in SD card won’t be erased.
After Upgrading (1.6 Donut -> 2.1 Éclair), user can’t restore to previous version (2.1 Éclair -> 1.6 Donut)
even though user try to do factory reset.

LGE recommand that you backup the PIMS (Contacts, Calendar) thru Google Account Sync.
STEP 01 In case of using 3G, It will be charged. Hence, LGE recommand that you try to sync by Wifi.
Contacts Backup You should have Google account for Google Sync.

1) Clcik the Auto-Sync or select the items which you want to sync manually
from “Accounts & Sync settings”.
2) Atfer Sync, pls, check whether contacts and calendar is uploaded into Google
account thru PC.
