Common terms used
Floor area/carpet area : it is defined as the area covered in any building at any floor
level
Plinth area/ built up area : it is defined as the area measured in the outer side at floor
level or basement level
Frontage : it is defined as the horizontal distance between the construction of main
building and the front boundary of the site
Back setback: the horizontal distance between the construction line and backside
boundary line of the site
Side set back: the horizontal distance between the side of the building to the side of
the boundary line
