Online Platform Tool for ICT

Content Development
Objective
• Create an original or derivative ICT content using online creation tools
platform, and application to effectively communicate message related
to specific professional tracks.
• Evaluate existing online creation tools, platform and application in
developing ICT content for specific professional tracks.
Nature and Purpose of Online
Platform and Applications
• To be able to create good online presentation, webpage, and
content, you should know the principles and techniques of design
using online creation tools, platforms, and application to develop
ICT content. The following are some examples of online platform
and applications that you can use. They will be discussed in the
subsequent lessons.
Following are some of the online platform
and application that you can use;

• Presentation tools – Prezi, Zoho Show, MS Power Point


• Newsletter, ICT content platforms – Dropbox, Tumblr, Wix
• Photo editing tools – Picasa, Adobe Photoshop, MS Paint
• Photo uploading and hosting tools – DropBox, Flickr
• Online collaborative tools – Google Drive, Viber, Facebook
• Cloud computing - Drop Box, Google Drive, Microsoft One Drive
• Blog tools- Blogger, WordPress , LiveJournal
• Mapping tools- Google maps, Wikipedia
• Music production- Sibelius
• Survey and forms- Google Forms
• ICT projects and content publishing and uploading platform- WordPress, MS Office

Presentation/Visualization

Presentation is a graphics program that allows you to create slide shows


presenting a topic, lecture, demonstration to enlighten, communicate,
or persuade the audience. A presentation program allows you to
organize, summarize and format your material, illustrate your
presentation with images or ClipArt, animations, and graphics, and
other multimedia components. It also allows transitions, animations,
and sounds that will captivate the audience and keep them interested.
Examples of presentation tools are:

1. Zoho Show- is an online presentation that features master slides, templates, customization, the ability to
insert video/images, transitions/animation, image editing, shape effects, and easy flowchart building.
2. LinkedIn SlideShare- is a Web 2.0 based slide hosting service. Users can upload file privately or publicy in
the following file formats: PowerPoint, PDF, Keynote or OpenDocument presentations.
3. Google Slide- Create a new presentation and edit, collaborate with others, and present wherever you are
for free.
4. SlideRocket- is an online presentation platform that lets users create , manage, share and measures
presentations. It is provide via a SaaS model.
5. MS PowerPoint- is a slide show presentation program currently developed by Microsoft.
6. Prezi- is a cloud-based presentation software based on a software as a service model. The employs a
zooming user interface (ZUI), which allows users to zoom in and out of their presentation media.
Hands-on: Using Prezi to Create a
Presentation
1. Go to prezi.com.
2. Click Get Started on the upper right corner.
3. Sign up for a public account.
4. Fill in the boxes with the specified information ( first name, last name,
email, and password).
5. After providing information, click Create your free Public account.

Zooming In and Out
1. To zoom in, just scroll the mouse upwards, and to zoom out, scroll the
mouse downwards. Or you could just use the zoom in and out buttons.
2. To zoom in the frames, just click a frame and select Zoom in to Frame in
the frame tool bar.
3. To zoom out in the original overview, click the Home button.
Moving Around the Canvas
1. To move around the canvas, click and hold, and drag the cursor to the
direction you want to go.

Undo and redo


1. To undo, just click the Undo button , and to redo, click the Redo button.
Adding/Editing Texts
Text are the most important detail in every presentation. You will have a lot of
design option in prezi.
1. To add text, just click anywhere in the canvas, and start typing. Or click the
sign Click to add Title and type.
2. You can use the Text toolbar to customize the look of your text.
Adding/Editing Frames
If you ran out frames to type on, you can always add another frame with a
choice of different designs.
1. To add a frame, select the type of frame you would like, and drag the
shape with a plus sign anywhere you want in the canvas
2. To edit the frame, click on the frame, and you can change the color and
type of the frame or delete it in the frame toolbar.

3. You can move the frame around by clicking and holding the hand button,
and then drag it any direction.

4. You can increase or decrease the size of the frame by sliding the sizing
handle outward or toward the center, or you can use the + and - buttons.

5. To add an image, shape, video, and other files to the frame, click
Insert.
• Dashboard basics - a personal dashboard is an ideal ‘tool’ for managing
your work.it gives you an overview of all relevant projects ,data,
information management, file attachments, and links to information
sources for project planning and time management.
Adding a new folder you can sort your ideas separate your maps
from personal to school or business maps with the use of folders.
1.Go to the dashboard and click new folder in the toolbar.
2.Enter name and select ok.
3.You can move the mind maps into the folder by dragging and droping the
map into the folder.
Deleting a folder
1.To delete an entire folder , click the advanced menu button at the right side of
the folder.
2.Click delete.
3. To delete multiple folders, hover your mouse on one of the folders you want to
delete , click the box beside the advanced menu button to select it.
4.Click the button in the toolbar to delete the selected items.
Importing mind maps
• 1.clik import in the toolbar.
• 2.then a dialogue will appear in the screen. click choose file to choose a file
from a folder or you can just drag and drop files there.
• 3.then click import to import the selected files.
