• A character that has
opposite character traits
from another
• Meant to help highlight or
bring out another’s
positive or negative side

• Characters who do
not change
throughout the
story
Dynamic
• The opposite of static,
for they change
throughout the story
• They may learn a
lesson, become bad or
change in complex
ways
Flat

• Has 1 or 2 main
traits
• Their traits are
usually all
positive or all
negative
Round

• Opposite of Flat

• Have many
different traits
Stock

• Stereotypical
characters

• Based on clichés

and reveal their personalities

● - Used when two people interact with each


other and talk about different kinds of topic
● - Is simply having a conversation with
another person.
