WEEKEND AT THE PARK

When I was young, my parents often

brought us to the park. Father would
drive us early in order to get the best
spot. We, the children, would tire
ourselves doing all sorts of activities.
We would look forward to the
extravagant meals that Mother had
prepared. The family's favorite dishes like
steamed shrimps and adobo were always a
part of our outings. The rice would vanish
just as quickly as the cold juice and ice
cold water that we had brought with us.
The adult members would read books or
newspapers that we had brought with
us. Then before packing up, Father
would treat us to ice cream cones. I
always enjoyed those memorable
outings.
