c circles.
This term refers to an angle formed
by two rays whose vertex is the
center of the circle.

Central Angle
Can be determined by using the
equation:

Arc Length
The concept to be applied to
determine the amount of area
covered by a water sprinkler.

Area of a Sector
The concept to be applied to
determine the path a dog walks
while on a leash.

Arc Length
What is the area of the shaded
sector?

The monthly income of Jack Ibabaga’s family is

Php 36, 000.00. They spend Php 9,000.00 for food.
Php 12,000.00 for education, Php 4,500 for utilities, and
Php 6,000.00 for other expenses. The remaining amount
is for their savings. This information is shown in the circle

Mr. Jack Maawatan would like to place a fountain in his
circular garden. He wants the pipe, where the water will
pass through to be located at the center of the garden. Mr.
Maawatan does not know where it is. Suppose you were
asked by Mr. Maawatan to find the center of the garden, how
would you do it?

Group Activity
• Make a circle graph showing the different
genre of music that 10- Uranus students
like.
• Using the circle graph that you made,
formulate at least 2 problems involving
arcs, central angles, and sectors of a circle,
then solve.
• Explain how you applied your knowledge of
central angles and arcs of a circle in
preparing the graph.

For those who got a score of below 8:

• Find the radius if the arc

length is 12.56 cm and arc
measure is 45 degrees.

• Answer this in a ¼ sheet of

paper.
Inscribed Angles and Intercepted Arcs

• An inscribed angle is an
angle whose vertex is on
circle and whose sides
contain chords of the
circle.
Theorems on Inscribed Angles
1. If an angle is inscribed in a circle, then the
measure of the angle equals one-half the measure
of its intercepted arc (or the measure of the
intercepted arc is twice the measure of the
inscribed angle.)
2) If two inscribed angles of a circle (or
congruent circles) intercept congruent arcs
or the same arc, then the angles are
congruent.
3) If an inscribed angle of a circle intercepts a
semicircle, then the angle is a right angle.
4) If a quadrilateral is inscribed in a circle,
then its opposite angles are supplementary.
