ELECTRONICS
- JUN CARASCO
WHAT IS ELECTRONICS?
- is the study of how to control the flow
of electrons, also it deals with circuits
made up of components that control the
flow of electricity.
ELECTRICITY
- Electricity is a form of energy
also known as the flow of
electrons.
IMPORTANCE OF ELECTRICITY?
ELECTRICAL SIGNAL
Alternating Current
Direct Current
SAFETY IS
NO.1 PRIORITY!
THE MOST COMMON BASIC ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS

•Switch. •Transistors.
•Diodes. •Inductors.
•Resistors. •Integrated Circuits.
•Capacitors. •Electric Motors.
•LEDs.
SWITCH
a switch is a component that can
"make" or "break" an electrical circuit,
interrupting the current or diverting it
from one conductor to another.
DIODES
Diode is an electrical component
that allows the flow of current in
only one direction.
RESISTORS
A resistor is an electrical component
that limits or regulates the flow
of electrical current in
an electronic circuit.
CAPACITORS
A capacitor is a device that
stores electrical energy in an
electric field.
LED (LIGHT-EMITTING DIODE)
LED is a semiconductor device that
emits visible light when an electric
current passes through it.
TRANSISTORS
A transistor is a device that regulates
current or voltage flow and acts as a switch
or gate for electronic signals.
INDUCTORS
An inductor, also called a coil,
choke, or reactor, is a passive
two-terminal electrical component
that stores energy in a magnetic
field when electric current flows
through it.
IC (INTEGRATED CIRCUITS)
An integrated circuit (IC), sometimes called a
chip or microchip, is a semiconductor wafer on
which thousands or millions of tiny resistors,
capacitors, and transistors are fabricated.
ELECTRIC MOTORS
Electric motor is the electro-mechanical
machine which converts
the electrical energy into
mechanical energy and vice-versa.
CIRCUIT
A circuit is a complete and closed path
through which electric current can flow.
Combination of electronic parts, wires
connected between power sources.
BREADBOARD
A solderless board for making an experimental model of an
electric circuit.
TWO TYPES OF CIRCUIT
CONNECTION
- Series Circuit connection
- Parallel Circuit connection
A series circuit is one in which every component
is arranged in a series connection. Therefore,
a series circuit has the same current at all points
in the circuit. The voltage drops across each
component in the circuit sum to the source
voltage.
SERIES CIRCUIT EXAMPLE
A parallel circuit is a closed circuit
divided into two or more paths before
recombining to complete the circuit.
Each load connected in a separate path
receives the full circuit voltage and the
total circuit is equal to the sum of the
individual branch currents.
