Introduction to Vibration

The Oscillatory (back and forth) motion of a

machine from its normal position of rest.

Any motion that repeats itself after a

specific interval of time .

Trip Multiply
• Temporarily increase the alarm

Why use trip multiply..??

BENTLY NEVADA 3500

Trip Multiply
The value selected to temporarily increase the alarm (Alert and Danger)
setpoint values. This value is normally applied by manual (operator) action
during startup to allow a machine to pass through high vibration speed ranges
without monitor alarm indications.

Such high vibration speed ranges may include system

resonance’s and other normal transient vibrations.

Alarm Hysteresis

The Alarming hysteresis for all channel configuration is 1/64 of full value

100

Alarm Hysteresis = 100/64

Hysteresis = 1.56 mils

Danger Alarm 50

48.4
It means the channel input must
fall below 48.44 mils before the
channel is out of alarm
