 PCOS machine;
 Power cord of the PCOS;
 One (1) envelope containing spare iButton;
 Three (3) rolls of official thermal paper;
 Three (3) PINs of the BEI;
 One (1) PIN for re-zeroing which shall remain in
the PCOS box;
 Modem
 Two (2) copies of the Minutes

1. BEI will explain the rationale, methods and


procedures of TAS.

2. BEI will then


remove the seal of the
PCOS Box.

IMPORTANT:
A. The Shrink-wrapper of
the PCOS Machine Must
be intact.

B. The seals of the Printer


Cover, Main Memory Card
slot and the Back-up
memory card slot must not
be tampered.

3. Poll Clerk will record the condition of the


PCOS machine in the minutes before
removing the seal of the Printer Cover
(Memory Card Slots must remain sealed until the conclusion of
the May 10, 2010 elections)

4. PCOS Machine will then be positioned on
top of the Ballot Box.

5. PCOS Machine plugged to power source.

6. BEIs select 10
voters for mock election.

8. Transmission of Results to MBOC
9. BEIs tally the results from the Ballots and
shall compare the tally sheets with the
Printed ERs.
10. BEIs sign the ERs, place inside the
envelopes and be submitted to Election
Officer.
Important:
- After the Testing and Sealing
Process the PCOS Ballot Counter indicator
must be set back to zero.
- The transmission port and printer
cover must be resealed.
- Secure the that the Ballot Box is
locked and with the PCOS machine, they will
be resealed.
- Watchers shall record the
serial numbers of the seals used.

Watchers must note the following:

1. The PCOS Machine’s Shrink-wrapper must


be intact.

2. Seals are not tampered and their serial


numbers are the same with those numbers
recorded during the TAS.
ON THE DAY OF THE
ELECTION
Upon the Initialization of the PCOS Machine:
1. BEIs print copies of initialization report
having zero vote tallies for all the
candidates.
2. Initialization report shall contain
geographical information (Province,
Municipality, Barangay, Voting Center and
Clustered Precinct)

Shutting Down of the PCOS

After the printing of all reports and


transmission of precinct results to all
destinations, the PCOS shall automatically
display the main menu. The operator shall
then press the SHUTDOWN option, and the
PCOS automatically shutdown.
