Rizal law

R.A. 1425

Republic Act 1425 known as Rizal law

Mandates the teaching of the life, works and


writing of Rizal in all schools in the country.

An act to include in the curricula of all public and


private schools, colleges and universities courses on the
life, works and writings of Jose Rizal, particularly his
novels Noli me Tangere and El Filibusterismo,
authorizing the printing and distribution thereof, and for
other purposes.

Rizal finally Alive

On May 12, 1956, a compromise inserted by Committee


on Education chairman Laurel that accommodated the
objections of the Catholic Church was approved
unanimously. The bill specified that only college
(university) students would have the option of reading
unexpurgated versions of clerically-contested reading
material, such as Noli Me Tángere and El
Filibusterismo.
Important Act

1. Act no. 137 was organized the politico-military


district of Morong and named it the province of
Rizal in honour of the most illustrious Filipino and
the moist illustrious Tagalog the slant had ever
known.
2. Act no. 243 which authorized a public subscription
for the evection of a monumento in honour of Rizal
at the Luneta.
3. Act no. 364 which set aside the anniversary of his
death as a day of observance.
National Hero

● An individual who has been recognized as a hero


Because of his or her role and services in the country.
They are normally historical figure and recognized
nationally.
● The national hero serves not just identification to the
country to which he has been dubbed as the national
hero: he also serve an inspiration to the leaders and
the common people. The title is not only a form of
recognition to the hero but also a way back to
history, a remembrance to what country has changed
from becouse of this hero
What does it take to be called a
National Hero?

● The person must be a Filipino

● The Person must be dead

● The person must have a solid sense of patriotism

● The person must be a calm thinking person

Criteria for National Hero

● Heroes are those who have a concept of nation and


thereafter aspire and struggle for nation’s freedom.

● Heroes are those who define and contribute to a


system or life of freedom and order for a nation.

● Heroes are those who contribute to the quality and


destiny of a nation( Onofre D. Corpuz)

Additional Criteria for Heroes

● A hero is part of the people’s expression

● A hero thinks of the future , especially the future


generations.

● The choice of a hero involves not only the recounting


of an episode or events in history, but of the entire
process that made this particular person a hero
