4 Types of Students we come across:
1) Students who want to meet the basic graduation requirements, and
then go into the workforce

2) Students who know that they want a post-secondary education, but

haven’t decided on their field of study

3) Students who have a set post-secondary career plan – they know

what they want to study and where they want to go

4) Students who don’t have a clue, and break down bawling at the
thought of having to leave high school
Graduation Requirements
The Credit System
 High school students (Grades 10, 11, 12) operate on a
credit system. For each class successfully completed,
students earn one credit.
 Students require a minimum of 24 credits to graduate
from Grade 12.

 16 classes (credits) are compulsory for the English program. Therefore, students
have a minimum of 8 electives.

 17 courses (credits) are compulsory for the French Immersion program. Therefore,
students have a minimum of 7 electives.
 French Immersion Students must have a minimum of 12 credits in French Immersion

Workplace Pathway
Workplace and Apprenticeship Math will be offered in the second semester.
Students taking this math, can also take any other math course offered in
semester one.

This math class can be taken by students who know that their career and/or
post-secondary path will not require a different math pathway.
A second semester offering allows students that struggle in math with a second
chance to earn a math if they are not successful in semester one math.

APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM
(Offered in both semesters – full time: 5 credits)

Grade 11 is the best time to

participate in this program
What happens if
students failed a
class this year?
Options:
 Summer School online – Regina Catholic ($400) or Saskatoon Catholic ($400)

 Summer School – in class through Regina Public School Division ($185-$310)

 Retake the course at LeBoldus in the 2020-2021 academic year

Why is it so important to pick your classes carefully?

The classes students choose now, will

determine how many sections (classes) we
make for each course.

These classes also determine

which careers an individual can
go into when he/she is done
high school.
Planning For The Future

Students who are undecided about their

education, career or life direction should:
 Get to know themselves by assessing their
knowledge, and skills.

 Think about their interests, personality and

values.

 Do an interest inventory (Strong Interest Inventory)

or utilize www.myBlueprint.ca
Planning For The Future

 Try more electives or get more involved in

school clubs and projects.

 Visit Student Services & listen to announcements

about Career Fairs, Post-Secondary Workshops or
Spend-A-Day Programs.

 Re-Evaluate their Direction by keeping options

open and re-assessing them each year.
