INTRODUCTION

1960

 They were introduce as a high fashion product in the

mid1960s.

 It was inspired from sailor’s pants, which had a

noticeable wider leg than other pants for the sailors to
roll them up while scrubbing on deck

 They went from high fashion to apart of hippie

counter culture movement.

 It was way of youth to deplore new modern fashion.

 Many of them would make it themselves by inserting

new pieces of fabric from knee of the jeans.

 Bell bottom were paired with tie – dye shirts and

granny glass.

 After this they got very popular and move into the
mainstream.
