We can learn about another culture via the representation of its popular
culture
Basically refers to cultural phenomena or system that have mass appeal
and that infiltrate our daily life.
Popular image as portrayed in television,film,advertising,comic
strip,general ideologies.
Popular culture is often driven by an economic industry with money making
target ,aim for mass consumption and profit generating outcomes.
All of us must remain vigillant in questioning the sources of where we
receive our ideas or images about another culture
Symbol is a sign,word,gesture,or non verbal behaviour that stand
for or reflect something meaningfull
the meaning/interpretation that we attach to a symbol
Cultural norms ; proper or improper behaviour in a given
interaction scene
Cultural competence skills ; refer to the cultural knowledge you
have internalized and the operational skills you are able to apply
