DIGITAL TASKS

The course includes 14 hours of digital tasks. These tasks are

designed to train you to improve your language skills using
different resources outside the classroom.

Tasks will be uploaded on Edmodo at regular intervals during

the 6 weeks of your course. Please ensure you work on these
as they are uploaded; the 14 hours will be taken into account
for your attendance and will have an effect on participation
grades.

ATTENDANCE

This is a 50-hour course - 36 of which are face-to-face and 14 are digital tasks.

The digital tasks are counted for your attendance; each task counts for 2% of
attendance.

You need 70% attendance to get a certificate.

www.britishcouncil.org 13
EDMODO
Edmodo is a digital platform. Your teacher has set up a group for your class.
You will be given the code to join this group. It is a closed group. Your digital tasks
all require you to post messages on the group at regular intervals. You will be
expected to read and comment on your classmates’ posts as well. This is a good
opportunity to use what you learn in class or in your digital tasks. It also gives you
an opportunity to explore useful resources online and interact with your
classmates in English outside the classroom.
These are self access tasks. You will be given an answer key to correct your own
work. Your teacher will respond/give feedback/comment only on tasks that require
such feedback.
You can work on your desktop/laptop/mobile. If you don’t have access to the
internet or a desktop/laptop at home, you can make use of the computers in our
library provided you are a member of the library.
www.britishcouncil.org 14
If you do not have access to a computer but have a smart phone, you can
download the Edmodo App from Playstore. If you also download the Microsoft
suite (you will only need Word) you can access the files and respond on your
phone.

If you DO NOT have access to a computer/ a smart phone, please inform your
teacher before you leave the classroom today.

www.britishcouncil.org 15
When you complete the digital task assignment, you
can submit it by clicking on this TURN IN button.

STUDYING IN CLASS AND AT HOME
It is important that you are an active student
in class and at home. You should try to
match the number of hours you study in
class with the same number of hours of self-
study at home.
You are expected to work on the digital tasks at
home. These are an integral part of the course and
your final grade will depend on the work you do on
these tasks.

www.britishcouncil.org 19
What else can you do outside the classroom to
improve your language skills?

One thing you could do is use the web to read

stories/ articles/ play games/ blog; all this can help
you improve your language . The digital tasks
introduce you to web resources that can help you

improve your language.
