INTRODUCTION STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM • This study aims to find out the effects of excessive use of mobile phones on academic performance of the students. Specifically, it sought to f answer the following questions: 1. What are the common effects of irresponsible use of mobile phones in the students? 2. How does mobile phones affect the academic performance of the students? 3. How much time do they consume a day in using their mobile phones instead of studying? 4. What are the consequences of the over and irresponsible use of their mobile phones? SCOPE AND DELIMITATIONS The research “ Effects of Excessive Use of Mobile Phones Affect The Academic Performance of Grade 10 Students In Buenavista National High School” was conducted only in the Grade 10 students of Buenavista National High School. The scope of this study is limited in knowing whether the Excessive Use of Mobile Phones really affect the academic performance of students. SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY This study is deemed significant to the students, teachers, parents, school, and other researchers. Students. Their low academic performance will made them realize the importance of having limitation in using mobile phones. Teacher. This will inform the teacher that they should give more effort in teaching so their student would not attempt to use their phones Parents. this will made them realize that their children should have a limited time in using mobile phones. School. This study will serve as a reference for the other school having the same problem regarding low academic performance of students. Researchers.
