CALABARZON

GEOGRAPHIC PROFILE
It is the study of places and the relationships
between people and their environments.
It examines how human culture interacts with
the natural environment and the way that
locations and places can have an impact on
people.
It seeks to understand where things are
found, why they are there, and how they
develop and change over time.
It is composed of the five
provinces of CAvite, LAguna,
BAtangas, Rizal, and QueZON. It is
located in Southern Luzon,
Southwest of Metro Manila and is
the second most densely
populated region in the country. It
is bordered by Region V to the
CAVITE is a province in the Philippines
situated in the CALABARZON region of
occupying the central section of Luzon.
Its capital is the City of Imus. The
province has a land area of 1,574.17 sq.
km. (607.79 sq. mi.) It is one of the most
populated provinces in the country and
one of the most industrialized and
fastest growing provinces in the
Philippines.
LAGUNA is situated Southeast of
Metro Manila, South of the province
of Rizal, West of Quezon, North of
Batangas, and East of Cavite.It covers
a total area of 1,917.85 km² (740.49
sq. mi.). Its capital is the Municipality
of Santa Cruz. It is notable as the
birthplace of Jose Rizal, the country’s
national hero.
BATANGAS is bordered by the
provinces of Cavite and Laguna to
the North, and Quezon to the
East. Its capital is the city of
Batangas. It has a land area of
3,119.75 sq. km. (1,204.54 sq.
mi.). It is one of the most popular
tourist destinations near Metro
RIZAL is named after Jose Rizal,
Philippines’ national hero. It covers a
total area of 1,191.94 sq. km. (460.21 sq.
mi.). The provincial capitol of Rizal is
situated in Antipolo while Pasig, Metro
Manila, outside the jurisdiction of the
province, is still the official capital. It is a
mountainous province perched on the
Western slopes of the Southern portion of
the Sierra Madre mountain range.
QUEZON was named after Manuel L.
Quezon, the second President of the
Philippines and the first to be freely
elected. Lucena is the provincial capital,
seat of the provincial government and the
most populous city of the province, but is
governed independently as a highly
urbanized city. It is the 8th largest
province in the Philippines having an area
of 8,989.39 sq. km. (3,470.82 sq. mi.).

Remulla.
Ramil Hernandez is a Filipino
politician from Calamba City, 
Laguna. He is currently serves
as
a Governor of Laguna. He was was
elected two terms as a  
Governor of Laguna. He was first
elected as a Governor in 2016 and was
re-elected in 2019.
Hermilando "Dodo" Ingco
Mandanas (born March
25, 1944) is a Filipino
 politician. A former three-
term Governor of 
Batangas since 1995 to 2004 and
former three-term Member of the House
of the representative of the Philippines,
representing the 2nd District of
Rebecca "Nini" Alcantara
Ynares is a Filipina politician
from the province of Rizal, 
Philippines. She was first elected as
governor of the province in 2001and
was re-elected in 2013. Ynares' second
term started in 2016, and since then
she has served as Governor of Rizal.
Danilo "Danny" Etorma
Suarez
(born December 20, 1942) is a
Filipino politician and the
incumbent Governor of Quezon. He
served as  Minority Floor Leader of the 
House of Representatives of the
Philippines representing the 3rd District
 of Quezon.

SPOTS OF
CALABARZON
This South Luzon province is where the Emilio
Aguinaldo Shrine can be found. This is the place
where the Philippines declared its independence
from Spanish Colonization took place. Both Natural
beauty and man-made attractions of Cavite attracts
Corregidor Island can be found in Cavite. It’s located at the
entrance of Manila Bay and served as a military bastion. Its
ruins can be seen up to this day. History says that this island
was where they put coastal artillery to fight the warships
trying to enter the Philippines through Manila Bay.
EK is an old favorite and even if it’s not as popular as
before, this theme park make everyone happy with its
numerous rides like Up, Up and Away which looks like
you’re riding a hot air balloon; Xtreme Paintball Philippines
and Rio Grande Rapids. The amusement park also has
shopping facilities, dining stalls and shows and
Laguna de Báý is the largest lake in
the Philippines. It is shaped like a
stylized 'W', with two peninsulas jutting
out from the northern shore.
 The ancient town of Taal is where the well-preserved heritage houses and
other establishments of the rich and famous people of a bygone era are
located. There’s a park in the town called Taal Park where Basilica de San
Martin de Tours stands. Modern times have paved ways for modern shops like
convenience stores but the charm of this quaint place remains. You can go on
a walking tour around the area where you can also buy embroidered piña
fabrics as pasalubongs.

 Daranak falls is already a popular tourist spot in Tanay because of


its green waters and lush backdrop. You’ll have to take a hike to
reach this cherished place. It isn’t a huge waterfalls but its allure
comes from the beginning of the hike to the cute rock formations
and of course the stunning falls as the main event.
 Not as towering as the ones in Bangui but the windmills of Pililla
have its own appeal since its standing on top of the hills with a
stunning view of Laguna de Bay. The strong winds of Pililla make
it the perfect spot for these wind turbines which is responsible
for about 150 Gigawatt hours of electricity each year.
 White sand; turquoise waters and calm waters, that’s the promise
of spending a day or two in Cagbalete Island in Mauban Quezon. 
It’s a serene place with only a few locals that you can enjoy. You
can go swimming, beach bumming or strolling as much as you
can. Some accommodations are available but it’s still limited.
The nearness of Anilao to Manila makes this beach a go to
for diving enthusiasts. The marine life of Anilao is diverse
and really colorful. There are resorts where accredited
dive masters are ready to give lectures to willing guests.
Life-size dioramas that depict the historic trial of
Andres Bonifacio in a military court are housed in this
museum.

BUKO PIE
A staple in the region, coconut is one of the most
important ingredients in Calabarzon's popular
delicacies. Among these delicacies is the famous
buko pie, which originated from the coconut capital
of the country, Quezon.
 ORGANIC SALAD AND HEALTHY DRINKS
 Known for its organic produce, Costales Nature Farms in
Majayjay is one of the leading agri-tourist spots in
Calabarzon. It also serves green salads and refreshing
drinks made with fresh fruits and vegetables.
 LAMBANOG
 Coconut vodka or lambanog, which originated from Quezon,
is the most popular traditional party drink in the region. Join
a local "tagayan" ritual, in which groups gather around the
host who leads the toast and fills the glass with lambanog.
 KUWALONG PUSO NG SAGING
 Sulyap Gallery, a two-storey Spanish colonial house in Kabang,
Quezon, is one of the priceless jewels of the region. It has been
transformed into a bed and breakfast that serves Laguna's
famous Kulawong Puso ng Saging -- banana hearts cooked in
coconut milk.
 TAGAYTAY COFFEE
 Perfect for the city's cold weather, Gourmet’s Café of Tagaytay offers
some of the finest coffee selection from across the country: Arabica
beans from Benguet and Bukidnon, Liberica or ‘barako’ from
Batangas, and Robusta from Cavite, Mindoro, Mindanao, and Palawan.
 MINALUTO OF ANGONO
Known for exotic dishes like cow's ball soup and beetle larvae in
milk soup, Balaw Balaw Specialty Restaurant aserves a specialty
paella called Minaluto, which features lechon kawali, fried chicken,
crispy squid, fish, salted eggs, broiled and fried veggies, and
choice rice (sticky, binagoongan, garlic, seafood, black, and plain).

BATANGAS WAS OBTAINED FROM
THE WORD “BATANG” WHICH IS A
TERM OF THE NATIVES FOR THE
ABUNDANT LOGS IN CALUMPANG
RIVER.
MORONG WAS CONSIDERED THE
PROVINCE BEFORE IT WAS CALLED
RIZAL. ITS ORIGINAL NAME WAS
POLITICO MILITAR DISTRITO DE
MORONG, WHICH INCLUDED THE
TOWNS THAT MAKE UP PRESENT-
DAY RIZAL PROVINCE.
QUEZON CITY, CHARTERED CITY
AND CAPITAL OF THE PHILIPPINES
FROM 1948 TO 1976. IT WAS
NAMED AFTER PRESIDENT
MANUEL LUIS QUEZON, WHO
SELECTED THE SITE (FORMERLY A
PRIVATE ESTATE) IN 1939.
